Dear Quilting Friends,

Its been awhile since I have written a proper newsletter & I must apologise for that. I still am unsure exactly where I am heading with the shop as I have been unable to sell the building in Millicent so have still been opening up in there from time to time. I also have a shop set up at home as well.

Hope you all had a great Xmas & New Year. We had all my family together again which was great. We were also all together up in Darwin in Sept. as Angela turned 30 ( where have those years gone)?

Angela has been home for five weeks and has been helping me out in the shop.We have been working on two new Block of the Month by Libby Richardson. One is called “ Polly & Friends” and is a girlie quilt with a scalloped border done in pastel colours.I should be ready to start this by the middle of March if the patterns are out on time. I have a picture of this Quilt if anyone would like it emailed.

The second one is a bugs quilt which will be a little longer possibly. This will depend on the release of the patterns.

We have a few new Jelly Rolls as well as some books which includes Michele Hills new More William Morris & we also have a selection of the Adelaide Collection of William Morris fabrics by Michele. If we do not have the fabric in stock of this collection we are happy to get it in for you.

The Geltwood Craft Festival will be on again this year from April 2nd until 9th.This year we have organised a Quilt Charity Challenge. We are asking people to make a quilt to be donated to The Flyings Doctors. The quilt needs to be a minimum of 1 metre x 1.2 metres and can be made for any age.

The quilts will be exhibited during the festival and viewers choice prizes will be awarded at the completion of the exhibition.

There are still a few workshops with vacancies in it during the festival. I think Lorraine Cockers classes are booked but if you were interested you could go on a waiting list but we have put on an extra class with Lessa Siegele on the 4th & 5th April. This class is the two days before the Green Triangle Day so maybe you could work that in together. Let me know if any of you have trouble with accommodation as I may be able to help you out. Lessa will be doing Stars & Flowers and you can check out all this information on the Wattle Range Website at

Dice 1 ½ pounds green cucumbers with peel on, 1 large onion & 1 ½ pound. Apples peeled. Mince & boil together with ½ pint white vinegar, ½ pound sugar, 1 Tblespoon salt & ¼ Teaspoon cayenne pepper for ½ hour. Thicken with 1 Tblespoon cornflour & add green colouring if desire. Bottle hot.

This spread is great on biscuits with cheese but put the cheese on first otherwise the biscuits will go soggy.

A great recipe for using up all those cucumbers that have been left on the vines a bit long.
